FAQ - Usage
How to connect to the Internet for the 1st time?
  • Press on the only button in the middle of the iTourer for 3 seconds
  • Ensure both lights right and left of the button are green. It may take up to 20 seconds to full switching on.
  • The right green light means that battery is full, while the left green light means that 3G/4G connection is strong
  • On your Wi-Fi enabled device (Smartphone, tablet, laptop or other), choose the hotspot's network name, which is written on the face of the iTourer
  • Enter the password, which is also written on the face of the iTourer
  • For next connections, your device will connect to the hotspot automatically once the hotspot is on.
How many devices can I connect simultaneously?
You can connect up to 10 devices (smartphone, tablet, laptop) simultaneously! Please notice that in this case the connection speed is then shared between each device. However, in the most of Russian cities you will not feel any decrease of internet access speed.
How long does the battery last?
The battery lasts between 6 and 8 hours in use, which depends on intensivity of browsing. For comfortable travelling, we recommend that you charge it every night and during your lunchtime. In order to save the battery, when the hotspot is not in use, we also recommend that you turn it off. You also may use your power bank or laptop to charge the iTourer.
If my cell phone can receive a signal, will the pocket WiFi as well?
Not necessarily. Your cell phone may work by a different carrier than the pocket WiFi, so they don't connect to the same mobile network antenna.
On the other hand, cell phones connect to mobile voice networks that have better coverage than data networks, especially in rural areas. For this reason, in some rare situations you might be able to make calls, but not to connect to the internet.
What if I have a problem with coverage, or there is no coverage where I am traveling?
We make the best effort to ensure that your experience with our service is uncompromising. However, sometimes the service might not work at 100%, due to lack of coverage, network congestion, and so on… These things are generally completely outside of our control, and happen without warning. However, we promise to resolve any issues you might have proactively and effectively.

In the very rare event that there is no coverage in your location and you won't be traveling to another location, please contact us. We'll immediately approach to return the hotspot, and will refund you the rental amount starting from the day after the courier receives your hotspot!
What is the average speed of a WiTourist pocket WiFi?
Telephone operators indicate the max speed available on their infrastructures, but it is not the real average speed. For reasons related to normal network congestion, you may be sure that your speed will not generally fall below 15 Mbps for 4G standard, or 5 Mbps for 3G standard. Average speed in major Russian cities, such as Moscow and Saint Petersburg is usually about 30 Mbps.
Can I make phone calls or send SMS with the pocket WiFi?
The pocket WiFi does not enable regular voice calls and SMS via cellular networks, however it does allow VoIP calls and messaging via WhatsApp, Skype, Viber, Facebook etc.
